Program Overview
Dubbo/Plains Division of General Practice implemented the Aged Care General
Practitioner Panel Initiative in 2004. The Initiative aims to increase GP
service provision to residents of Aged Care Homes by creating an environment
that is more attractive to GPs and enabling GPs to work in partnership with Aged
Care Homes.
Three GP Panels have been established
in:
The Panels meet quarterly and the
meetings are facilitated by the Division representative.
The Division has a total of 26 Residential Aged Care Facilities, comprising 955 beds, within the Division
area.
