Dubbo After Hours Medical Service (DAHMS)

Coordinated by the Division the service is an on call telephone support  out of normal General Practice Hours. The service is provided by a collaborative of local General Practitioners .

Phone consultation is provided with the GP deciding treatment option.These options include home visit, referral to hospital or referral to GP clinic. 

Phone consultation is free. If a home or facility visit is required the GP bills accordingly. Visits are not bulk billed.

Objectives

• Provide access to a GP for the city of Dubbo and surrounding communities out of normal practice hours.
• Provide access for Aged care facilities  to a GP out of regular hours.
• Support General Practice in delivering out of normal hours care to their patients.
• Decrease demand on Dubbo Base Hospital Emergency Department.

Hours of Operation :- 

 Weeknights 6pm – 8am

Sat/Sun and Public Holidays 24hrs (8am – 8am)
