Aims; to increase community access to General Practitioners, Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists and other mental health professionals registered with Medicare.

GP Psych Services Program (free service)
Commonwealth funded; aims to provide a free service to low income patients complementing the Better Access Program. Delivered by mental health clinicians employed or contracted by the Division.

Patient Information Brochure
Better Access and GP Psych Services Program's allow GPs to refer patients for whom GP Mental Health Treatment Plan has been claimed, to be seen for 6-12 sessions. GPs are able to review patients using GP Mental Health Review (2712) and provide further consultations, if required with GP Mental Health Consultation (item 2713).
All patients who are assessed as having a mental disorder as defined in the MBS are eligible for services these programs.
Perinatal Depression Program
Aims; to improve prevention and early detection of antenatal and postnatal depression and provide better support and treatment for expectant and new mothers experiencing depression.
