Medical Specialist Outreach Assistance Program (MSOAP)

MSOAP is funded by the Commonwealth Government and the Rural Doctors Network is responsible for the 'private' sector component of MSOAP in NSW, the Division having a funding agreement with the RDN to manage the MSOAP program.

Objective

• Improve access of regional, rural and remote communities to medical specialist services by supporting medical specialists to provide outreach medical services.
• Support local GPs in the on going care of patients.
• Provide education to local GPs 

At present specialists in the following areas visit:-

Dubbo

General Physician, Cardiology,Rheumatology,Respiratory,Neurology and Dermatology.

Gulgong

Neuro surgery

Warren/Nyngan

Psychiatry
